Out of site should not mean out of mind!
As the winter blankets your world with white, don't forget that under all that snow is... your lawn.

Taking care in the winter will help you have a better lawn in the warmer months.
When the snow falls, many people turn off their "lawn" minds and turn on their "snow minds" and forget that - under the snow, is their lawn. Here are a few tips to help keep your lawn happy and healthy, even as it's dormant.
- Try to keep driveway salting to a minimum. Salt can be damaging to your lawn as the snow melts.
- Try to spread snow from your driveway as evenly as possible across the lawn. Extremely large snowbanks take extra long to melt and your lawn could miss some crucial "rebirth" periods in the spring.
- Try not to blow "slushy" or "dirty" snow onto your lawn, as the sand will simply sink as the snow melts and thoroughly cover your grass as it tries to come out of dormancy.
- Keep the snow clean, avoiding too much concentration of forgotten items or pet waste.
- Be careful that motorized snowmobiles and manual tobaggons are firmly on SNOW and not riding on the grass below.
By following these simple tips, you'll help your lawn achieve it's required "beauty rest" and won't have to try to resurrect a dead lawn in the spring.
